Level 3 Coach Course Applications Now Open

Four Irish Records on Final Night of Swimming Championships

Sycerika McMahon kicked off the final day of action at the Carlton Irish National Swimming Championships putting a sixth national title to her name.  McMahon (2:15.60) finished behind Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu (2:11.84) in the Women’s 200m Individual Medley but picked up the title of National Champion to add to the 400m Individual Medley, 100m, 200m and 400m Freestyle and 200m Butterfly she had already won over the weekend. Setanta Sports covering Irish LC Nationals

Swim Ireland are delighted to announce that Setanta Sports will be in attendance at the Carlton Irish LC Championships and will be covering LIVE on Setanta Sports the finals session on Friday 26th April on Setanta Sports Ireland Live. The LIVE programming will run from 5.30pm – 7pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase swimming live on National Television and we would ike to thanks Setanta Sports and the Irish Sports Council for making it happen

Swim Ireland Launch Strategic Plan 2013-16

The was officially launched at the Swim Ireland AGM on Saturday 13th April.  The plan outlines Swim Ireland’s strategic goals for the next four years up to the 2016 Olympic Games. Athletes, Coaches, Clubs and Volunteers honoured at Swim Ireland Awards

Sycerika McMahon was last night named High Performance Athlete of the Year at the Swim Ireland Annual Awards in the Galway Bay Hotel.  McMahon had an outstanding year in 2012, winning two European medals, silver in the 50m Breaststroke at the European Long Course Swimming Championships in May and Bronze in the same event at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in December. Irish Team Selected for Celtic Tri Nations

Swim Ireland are pleased to announce the Irish Team selected for the Celtic Tri Nations 2013. Selection was made by the National Performance Director, Peter Banks. The selection criteria has been based on the fastest swimmer in each Olympic event available for selection from the period of July 1st 2012 to March 1st 2013. GB Under 19′s join Cathal Brugha at training camp

Jérôme Read brought his Great Britain U19 Team to town last weekend to join Cathal Brugha in an intensive training camp which was based at three local venues, Bangor Aurora, Lagan Valley LeisurePlex and Falls Leisure Centre.  Over three days Brughas senior players were exposed to strenuous training drills and tactical analysis led by the Great Britain Head Coach Jérôme Read, who has also been acting as Cathal Brugha Water Polo consultant since the beginning of this season. Swim Ireland host American Swimming Coaches in Dublin
