Swim Ireland & Swim Ulster would like to clarify the situation in regard to pathway for qualifying for the 2016 Irish Minor & Senior Schools events. Request for Nominations Committee

At the Swim Ireland Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 9 May 2015, certain Resolutions were passed which change the structure of the Swim Ireland Board as well as the nomination process for electing Board members and will take effect from our 2016 AGM and onward. Conor Ferguson Wins Fourth Commonwealth Medal

Conor Ferguson added a fourth medal to his collection on the penultimate day of swimming at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Somoa today. Ferguson added Silver to the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals already won this week to bring his tally to four. The 15 year old had already won 100m Backstroke Gold, 50m Backstroke Silver and Medley Relay Bronze and his latest medal came in the 200m Backstroke. Irish swimmers continued their fantastic form on Day 2 of the Commonwealth Youth Games in Somoa as Conor Ferguson added to his medal tally and Danielle Hill broke the 50m Backstroke Irish Junior Record. Ferguson Claims Commonwealth Youth GOLD

Larne’s Conor Ferguson continued his fantastic form this summer collecting Gold at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Somoa, where all five Northern Ireland swimmers made Finals on the opening day. Ferguson cruised to victory in a time of 55.87 seconds in the 100m Backstroke. Golden Girl McSharry Wins Triple Gold at Schools Games

Ireland’s Mona McSharry had a dream start to the 2015/16 season as she collected three Gold medals at the Sainsbury’s Schools Games over the weekend. McSharry, of Marlin’s Swimming Club in Ballyshannon, won both the the 100m and 200m Breaststroke and was part of the 400m Medley Relay team that also took Gold. Irish Swimmers Ready for Commonwealth Youth Games

Five Irish swimmers will be in action at the Commonwealth Youth Games starting tomorrow. Swimming at the Games will take place in Samoa between the 7th and 11th of September. Northern Ireland will be represented by 17 athletes across 5 sports: Aquatics, Athletics, Boxing, Lawn Bowls and Squash. All of the competitors are aged between 15 and 18. Ireland Team Set to Compete at Schools Games

Ireland will be represented by a 15 strong team at the Sainsbury’s 2015 School Games which start on Saturday. Swimming at the Games will take place at the Manchester Aquatics Centre over two days with over 150 swimmers competing. Eight teams will compete in the 2015 Games representing Ireland, England North, England Central, England East, England South, Scotland North & West, Scotland South & East and Wales. Ferguson Smashes Fourth Irish Record in Singapore

Larne’s Conor Ferguson continued his great form on the final day of competition at the World Junior Swimming Championships in Singapore. Ferguson broke his fourth Irish Junior Record of the week in the 200m Backstroke heats.
