Ireland’s Alex Murphy has placed 13th overall in the 50m Breaststroke European Championships semi-final at the London Olympic Aquatics Centre. The UCD swimmer who had progressed in 16th place touched 7th in his heat in 27.83 seconds, faster than this morning’s heat swim of 28 seconds but off his best time of 27.49. Ireland’s Alex Murphy is through to the 50m Breaststroke semi-final at the European Swimming Championships in London. Fiona Doyle has placed 13th overall in the 200m Breaststroke semi-final at the European Swimming Championships in London. It’s been a busy week so far for the 24 year old who was swimming the semi-final less than 24 hours after claiming 4th place in the 100m Breaststroke Final. Ireland’s Fiona Doyle came agonisingly close to her first European medal tonight as she touched 4th in the 100m Breaststroke Final at the London Aquatics Centre. Ryan Qualifies for 50m Backstroke Semi-Final in Irish Record

Rio bound Shane Ryan is through to the 50m Backstroke semi-final at the European Championships in London today after he swam a new Irish senior record in this morning’s heats, his second record this week.
