UCD Race to Midnight

On Friday the 11th of April the UCD Sport and Exercise Management students are hosting the UCD Race to Midnight 12 hour charity swim in the UCD 50m pool. Fundraisers Swim a Mile for Padraig

On Sunday 2nd March, almost 100 swimmers made their way to Trinity College Dublin to show their support for Padraig Schaler by getting into the pool to swim a mile. A great variety of people came to show their support . Irish Team Prepare to Host 8 Nations Water Polo Tournament

Date for your Diary! Ireland will be hosting the 2014 EU 8 Nations Water Polo Tournament at UL Sport this March! Teams from Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Scotland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Wales and Malta will descend on Limerick from 14th – 16th March playing 20 games over the three days. Swim Ireland’s Dave McCullagh Memorial Gala, which this year incorporates the Ulster International Gala and Junior Celtic Duel Meet, kicked off today at the new 50m pool at the Aurora Leisure Centre in Bangor, Co. Irish Swimmers seek European Qualification Times

Irish swimmers will take to the pool this weekend (Friday to Sunday) for the first National Competition of 2014.  The Dave McCullagh Memorial Meet, which will incorporate the Ulster International Meet and Junior Celtic Duel Meet, will be the first national swimming competition to take place at the new Bangor Aurora Leisure Centre. Irish Swimmers Impress at University & College Meets

There was lots of action for our Irish swimmers racing abroad over the weekend with some fantastic results coming in from Toronto, Georgia, Sheffield and Orlando. Fiona Doyle had an outstanding weekend at the Canadian Intervarsity Sports Swimming Championships in Toronto. Doyle picked up Gold for the University of Calgary Dino’s on Friday swimming 1:06.27 in the 100m Breaststroke (sc).
