It is a requirement of World Aquatics, that Members of Affiliated Clubs proposing to train or compete in another country, obtain a Permit from their National Governing Body, before leaving the Country. The details of the requirements, binding on all members of FINA can be found on the World Aquatics Web site – General Rules GR2, GR3 & GR 4 apply.

Anyone intending to train or compete abroad should therefore make application to Swim Ireland at least 28 days prior to the date of departure, outlining the arrangements. All applications need to be made by completing the International Permit Juniors or the International Permit Masters & emailing it to gillianholland@swimireland.ie.

Yes, all team staff must have completed level 1 safeguarding. Teams travelling with athletes under 18 must have at least 1 qualified team manager. Additional team staff must be qualified for the role they hold – coaches, physiotherapist, strength and conditioning coach etc.

Yes, all team staff must current Garda vetting or Access NI.

 

An approved copy of the Permit application will be emailed back to the club secretary, please retain for your own records.
