Doyle and McMahon Impress in Canada and Texas

Ireland’s Fiona Doyle and Sycerika McMahon put in impressive performances at university competitions over the weekend.

Well done to Fiona Doyle who won 2 Gold Medals and 2 Bronze at the Canada West Swimming Intervarsity Championships (SC) over the weekend.

Fiona took Gold in the 50m Breaststroke in 31.04 seconds, a new meet record on day 1. She continued her good form with a second Gold in the 100m Breaststroke (1:07.34) on day 2.

On day three Fiona picked up two Bronze medals in the 100m Freestyle (56.28) and 200m Breaststroke (2:27.50).

Fiona’s swims helped her University of Calgary Dino’s teammates to a third place finish at the championship.

Sycerika Aggies

Also in impressive form over the weekend Sycerika McMahon helped her Texas A&M Team to win the Art Adamson Invitational title.

Sycerika finished third in the 200Y IM (1:57.27) on the first day of competition while also helping the Aggies to a second place finish in the 400Y Medley Relay, completing the Breaststroke leg.

On Day 2 Sycerika picked up another third place in the 100m Breaststroke (1:00.45) while claiming another second place in the relays; this time in the 200Y Medley Relay.

Sycerika made it through to the final in both the 200Y Breaststroke and 200Y Butterfly on the final day of competition finishing in 6th (2:13.44) and 5th (1:57.53) places respectively.

Well done to both Fiona and Sycerika.
