Doyle Breaks Irish Record; Irish Swimmers at SECs & BUCS; Divers in Action at British Championships
Congratulations to Fiona Doyle. The Ireland National Team Member and University of Calgary student is swimming at the CIS Swimming Champs this weekend. In the (short course) heats of the 100m Breaststroke yesterday Fiona set a NEW IRISH SENIOR RECORD of 1:05.95 and qualified first into the Finals.
In the (long course) Final Fiona went under World Championship and FINA Olympic A times to win the event for the third year running in a time of 1:07.76.
SwimSwam are at the event and interviewed Fiona after her morning swim below.
Sycerika McMahon is also competing this weekend at the SEC Championships in Alabama. She swims the 100Y Breatstroke on Friday and 200Y Breaststroke on Saturday.
Also in action this weekend, Oliver Dingley and Natasha McManus are in action at the British Gas Diving Championships, Oliver is representing Shamrock Diving Club with Natasha diving for Plymouth Diving.
Back to swimming and a number of Irish swimmers are competing in the BUCS (British University & Colleges Sport) in Ponds Forge from tomorrow to Sunday. Good Luck to Paul Angus, Curtis Coulter, Nicholas Quinn, Brian O’Sullivan and David Thompson.
Good luck also to the Irish U17 Boys Water Polo who are playing in the British Regional Championships in Manchester.
