Ireland’s Fiona Doyle came agonisingly close to her first European medal tonight as she touched 4th in the 100m Breaststroke Final at the London Aquatics Centre. Ryan Qualifies for 50m Backstroke Semi-Final in Irish Record

Rio bound Shane Ryan is through to the 50m Backstroke semi-final at the European Championships in London today after he swam a new Irish senior record in this morning’s heats, his second record this week. Olympic Games qualifier Fiona Doyle is through to the 100m Breaststroke semi-final on day 2 of racing at the LEN European Swimming Championships in London. In a heat with two other Irish swimmers, Sycerika McMahon and Mona McSharry, Doyle finished in 5th place in 1:08.79 and progresses in 12th place overall. Ireland’s Senior Men’s Water Polo have travelled to Malta this week for the EU Nations Cup and will compete from May 12th – 15th against Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Scotland, Wales, South Africa and Malta. Ireland’s Oliver Dingley has secured a second top ten finish at the LEN European Championships in London this evening after he finished 8th in the 3m Springboard Final. Dingley was 6th in the 1m Springboard event on Tuesday.
