Ryan 4th in World University Games Final

Ireland’s Shane Ryan came agonisingly close to a medal today as he competed in the final of the 100m Backstroke at the World University Games in Taipei. The Rio 2016 Olympian finished fourth in the final in 54.35 seconds, just .18 of a second shy of the Bronze. Irish records continue to tumble in Budapest

As the pool competition reached its mid-point on Thursday swimmers took to the water for 50m freestyle, 200m IM and 100m butterfly.   As the sun continues to shine in Budapest the Irish team grew significantly on Tuesday with 24 swimmers competing across 2 arenas in 4 swimming pools.
