The following child protection training/workshops are tailored for sports organisations and are the courses recognised by Swim Ireland.

Basic workshops

• Children in Sport Awareness Workshop (Code of Ethics) – Irish Sports Council
• Safeguarding Young People in Sport – Sport NI

Advanced workshops

• Club Children’s Officer Workshop – Irish Sports Council

• Child Protection: Designated Officer – Sport NI

Previous/alternative courses may be accepted on application to the NCO children@swimireland.ie

Access to the required training is available locally through the Swim Ireland and this is arranged on demand. Contact your Club to arrange a course locally or Swim Ireland directly for courses in your area.

Basic child protection training is a pre-requisite for Swim Ireland qualifications, so if you are thinking of becoming a team manager, a teacher or perhaps joining the committee attend a child protection course as soon as you have an opportunity and we encourage parents to attend as well.
