Swim for a Mile Huge Success

Swim Ireland’s second annual Swim for a Mile Event took place last week from May 18th – 22nd across 80 pools nationwide.

Over 1,300 swimmers completed the mile over 5 days, many of whom started out only swimming 1 length. The event was run in 2015 in conjunction with The Irish Sports Council, The Coca Cola Thank You Fund, Ireland Active, Today FM, The Irish Times and Precision Timing. For the first time we also went with the Simon Community as a Charity Partner. The amount in full raised from the event will be released later this week.

Congratulations to all of the participants and a big thank you to all of the volunteers and pools for their help over the week.
