The Board of Directors of Swim Ireland has convened a Nominations Committee for the purposes of identifying and recommending candidates for three Board vacancies, namely that of Chairperson and two Independent Directors. The Committee is tasked with recommending a single candidate for each vacancy for ratification at the AGM on May 28th 2016 in Belfast. The Board will be also seeking nominations for two, skills based, Member Directors in advance of the AGM and correspondence in relation to this will issue at a later date.
Swim Ireland members are invited to submit expressions of interest from for the role of Chairperson to firstname.lastname@example.org on or before Friday March 4th 2016. Candidates who wish to be considered for the role of Chairperson must be club members and must possess the necessary leadership qualities and management skills required for the role.
The Nominations Committee is also recruiting for two Directors who are independent of the Company and will consider applications from non-members based on the criteria and skills requirements outlined below:
Individuals who have at least three years’ experience as a Board Director in another organisation and who have experience at senior levels in one of the following areas:
• Public Relations
• Event Management
• HR/Change Management
• Commercial/Financial/Risk Management
The Board meets approximately every six weeks and meetings generally take place in Irish Sports HQ in Dublin. In common with the majority of sporting and non-profit organisations the Board Directors serve in a voluntary capacity. Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed in line with Swim Ireland Financial Policies.
