Swim Ireland's 2018 AGM took place on Saturday 28th April at the Campus Conference Centre at the National Sports Campus. Clubs from across the country attended and were presented with updates from some of the bussiness of the company from 2017/18 including:
Financial Review (Swim Ireland Treasurer Graham Beegan)
Reflection of the Year from CEO Sarah Keane
Get Ireland Swimming - An update from Year 1 of Swim Ireland's Participation Programme from Participation Manager Trish Mayon
How we work with clubs to foster and improve our relationships with facilities delivered by Swim Ireland Board Member Peter Conway and
An update from our Youth Development Department delivered by Young People's Project Officer Amanda NiGhabhann.
The second half of the AGM saw the following resolutions passed -
Resolution 1 - Minor amendments to reflect name changes and the removal of transitionary articles that are no longer relevant.
Resolution 2 - Amendment to remove the requirement to hold an Annual General Congress
Resolution 3 - Amendment to provide that Clubs nominating individuals for elected positions must have delegates present at the relevant Regional Conference, proposed by the Munster Region
Resolution 4 - Amendment to provide that the Regional Children’s Officer (RCO) will be a member of the Regional Management Committee
A 5th Ordinary Resolution to set the annual subscription fees of the organisation was also passed and will come into effect for the 2019/2019 Affiliation period.
The AGM concluded with the Company Elections. A number of nominations were ratified by the membership with the Board make-up remaining as is for 2018.
The date of the 2019 AGM was proposed and accepted for 13th April 2019.
