Grace Hodgins continued to shine at the LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia on Thursday when setting another big personal best.

On her international debut for Ireland on Wednesday, she lowered her short course (25m pool) 800m Freestyle record by more than 3 minutes to 8:55.71.

Back in the Aquatics Palace for her final event of the meet, the 16-year-old from Trojan Swimming Club clocked 16:45.77 in the 1500m Freestyle heats to better her previous best time by 35 seconds.

Fellow junior Molly Mayne had earlier swum her second-fastest short course 200m Breaststroke when posting 2:26.89 in the heats to finish 29th overall.

Up next for the busy 16-year-old is 200m Individual Medley on Friday, an event she has not swum in major short course competition since December 2019, when she set her current personal best: 2:16.39.

National Centre Limerick's Eoin Corby is also in action on Friday as he features in the 200m Breaststroke heats. The 19-year-old's personal best in this event is the Irish Junior Record: 2:08.04.

When swimming this event on his return to international short course competition at the FINA Swimming World Cup in Budapest last month, he posted his third-fastest time, clocking 2:11.48.
