February 24, 2021

We are delighted to now reveal the full line-up of presenters for Swim Ireland's Smartest Family, which begins on Friday, February 26!

Hosting the qualifying rounds for Connacht and Leinster will be Ireland's 800m and 1500m National Record-Holder, Grainne Murphy, an Olympian from County Wexford, who is also Swim Ireland's Get Ireland Swimming National Co-ordinator.

And her partner in crime will be Connacht stalwart Mary Dunne, winner of the ‘Outstanding Contribution’ Award at the Federation of Ireland's 2019 Volunteers in Sport Awards, and a proud member of Ballina Dolphins Swimming Club's committee.

On Saturday night, Munster and Ulster will be in the hot-seat, and sharing the microphone will be two of our High Performance team's finest!

Hailing from Lisburn, National Centre Dublin assistant coach Bethany Carson will no doubt be rooting for all the Ulster clubs, alongside Tokyo 2020 hopeful Brendan Hyland, a true Dub, with enough wit to entertain the wisdom out of anyone!

There is still time to register your family to play Swim Ireland's Smartest Family. Entries cost only €10 and our top prize, won by the winner of the Grand Final, is €1,000 to spend at Center Parcs Ireland.

Get ready for some banter, brainteasers and plenty of craic as our hosts lead you through the rounds of our Regional Qualifiers, and crown the champions of Connacht, Ulster, Leinster and Munster!

How does it work?

Regional qualifiers will take place on 26th and 27th February.

The top 10 families in each region will go through to the Swim Ireland Smartest Family National Final on Friday 5th March @ 7pm, which will be streamed live on Swim Ireland's YouTube Channel.

So even if you don’t make it through you can cheer on your club and region!

The entry fee is €10 per family, with all funds going towards some exciting prizes, including spot prizes at each of the regional qualifiers.

So even if you don’t win, you’re still in with a chance of a great prize!

There is a limit of only 200 families per region so don’t delay in getting signed up. Just sign up under one family member HERE - we will capture your family info during registration.

Each quiz will run for a maximum of 60 minutes with 30 questions, to suit an audience of mixed ages, i.e., cartoon characters, social media personalities and current affairs.
