Bangor Aurora Update

As we step up preparations for the return to Bangor for the exciting McCullagh International, Swim Ireland and Swim Ulster would like to update clubs and athletes in relation to the event.

We are aware of concerns circulating in relation to the pool and challenges to hosting a long course event in February and have been working hard behind the scenes to understand the current situation. We are happy to announce that whilst there have been some challenges with the moveable floor, there will be engineers on site in early February to reinstate the 50-metre pool. We have been assured it is business as usual and the pool will be ready for three days on long course racing from February 24^th – 26^th.

We appreciate the significant amount of work that Ards and North Down Borough Council and their operators Serco have undertaken to resolve the difficult issues around the moveable floors in Bangor Aurora.
