Swim Ireland has been approached by two third-level
institutions to help disseminate surveys that are linked to two distinct
research studies. Details and links to the surveys can be found below. If you
have an interest in completing either (or both) of the surveys, please follow
the instructions provided in the links themselves.
Dublin City University - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/F9BTC6L
Researchers from Dublin City University (DCU) have
initiated a project to develop a new tool to assess both the Fundamental &
Functional Movement skills of children aged 8-12. The development of these
skills are crucial for children as they provide the foundations for all sports
specific skills and movement skills for health. The aim of this tool will be to
assist teachers, coaches, clinicians & practitioners alike, and as such,
the input of this group into the design of the tool is critical.
The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
If you have any questions, or require more information relating to the study,
please contact Nathan Gavigan (nathan.gavigan2@mail.dcu.ie).
Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology - https://sur.ie/7ySJyA
Researchers from the Galway-Mayo Institute of
Technology (GMIT) seek to understand how parents shape the development of their
children in sport. A questionnaire will be used within a mixed methodology study
where quantitative research helps to assess the prevalence and frequencies of
sporting engagement, and the level of involvement of both children and parents.
The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. If you have any questions, or require more information relating to the study, please contact Enda Butler (G00352161@gmit.ie).
