Ireland’s Cryan Cryan was within just 8 points of the semi-final of the 3m Springboard today and in position to make it right up to the last dive. The 25-year -old was left gutted after missing her last dive which would have seen her through.
A consistent performance from Cryan across the first four dives of the three-hour preliminaries this morning saw her go into the last round in 12th place. Scores of 56.70, 55.50, and 57.40 for dives four and five looked like the National Centre Dublin diver was set to go through, but a missed dive in round five left her in 23rd place overall and out of the Top 18.
Cryan’s score of 250.25 was just eight points off the 18th place finisher in 258.60.
Cryan returns for Team Ireland’s last diving event on Saturday, she’ll combine with Oliver Dingley in the Mixed 3m Synchro Final.
