Irish diver Ciara McGing has set a new Irish Record in Women’s 10M platform at the Big Ten College meet at Purdue University in Indiana.
The 19-year-old has been diving for Ohio State University since September, and started competing on the college circuit in January.
In Indiana this weekend she faced 25 other high-quality divers and achieved a new personal best score of 258 in the preliminaries.
She went on to finish third in the final with a new Irish record and lifetime personal best of 307 - a score which put her only 0.6 points away from second place.
Ciara's new record lowered the score of 298.90 that her Irish team mate Tanya Watson set at the British Championships in January 2020.
