HER Outdoors Week is an opportunity for ALL females to escape to the outdoors and try something new!
Swim Ireland has teamed up with Sport Ireland, Local Sports Partnerships and Irish Sailing to offer loads of Yoga & Dip and outdoor swimming and activity programmes for females of all ages and abilities.
Below you'll find our outdoor swimming, Swimmin' Women and Yoga & Dip schedules and how to book those that still have availability.
Many of our HER Outdoors Week initiatives run for more than just this one week, because the outdoors is there to explore and enjoy all year round!

HER Outdoors Week - Swim For A Mile Challenge Events
Complete a timed mile or half mile swim in a relaxed, supportive and safe event atmosphere at Swim For a Mile (SFAM) events.
SFAM hats, bags and medals will be awarded on the day. Swimmers are separated into lanes based off their estimated completion time, so you are in a lane with similar abilities.
Lap counters will keep you encouraged and you will help raise funds for The Children’s Health Foundation – find more information at www.swimforamile.com

HER Outdoors Week - Yoga & Dip
Open to female adults and guided by a qualified yoga instructor for 45 minutes, followed by a dip in the open water with a qualified Open Water Swimming Coach who will provide tips and advice on cold water dipping! A lifeguard will also be on duty for enhanced safety throughout.
Tickets are subsidised to €5 per person through support of Sport Ireland Women In Sport Funding.

Yoga at Riverslade, dip in Old Pool at Bunree
6-Week Yoga & Dip Programmes
Love the idea of Yoga & Dip on a more regular basis? There are also 6-week programmes starting shortly in Mulranny Beach, Mayo and Munnelly's Cove in Easky, Sligo.
The 6-week Yoga & Dip programme is one weekly yoga session, guided by a fully-qualified yoga teacher for 30 minutes, followed by a short walk and refreshing 15-minutes dip, overseen by Swim Ireland coaches and a lifeguard.
These cost €10 in total for six sessions.

HER Outdoors Week - Swimmin' Women Midlife Programme
The Swim Ireland Swimmin' Women Midlife Pogramme includes aqua aerobics and swimming fundamentals, information on menopause and swimming and input from chartered physiotherapists.
Swimmin’ Women will move indoors once indoor grouped training is permitted – contact bethanycarson@swimireland.ie if you are interested in joining the Swimmin’ Women Community!

- 4 week Swimmin’ Women Midlife Programme at Carraig Na Bhfear, Cork Outdoor Swimming Pool running every Monday and Wednesday at 7pm and 8pm, from August 9 - September 1st. (Fully booked).

Swim Ireland has teamed up with Irish Sailing to help them run Introduction to Sailing programmes for teenage girls, showing them the benefit of

Swim Ireland's Open Water Swimming Programmes
If you are just getting into Open Water and want to build your confidence, fitness and skills and improve your swimming technique, our programmes are ideal for you!
These are inclusive, supportive sessions with small groups and low coach-to-swimmer ratios. Because the groups are small, we see they ALWAYS become great swimming friends for the future!
