Swim Ireland Award Infinity Swim Academy Flagship Centre Status for outstanding delivery of Learn to Swim Programme in Ulster

Infinity Swim Academy in partnership with Swim Ireland, has been awarded the prestigious Flagship Centre status for their outstanding commitment and contribution to helping children Learn to Swim in the Ulster Region.  As part of Swim Ireland’s commitment to ‘Get Ireland Swimming’, a new Learn to Swim programme was introduced in June 2017, launching at the Camlough facility in September last year.  The facility have implemented the programme, exceeding all expectations with swimmer numbers, quality and standard of delivery of their lessons and their commitment to a positive customer experience. Learning to Swim in South Down has never been better.

Swim Ireland’s Education Business Manager, Joni Harding, said of the award; “The amazing group of individuals who brought Infinity to Camlough, are, as their name suggests, completely without limits.  Their dedication and passion for swimming has gifted the south Down area with infinite opportunities in aquatics, through the delivery of Swim Ireland’s Learn to Swim programme.   The teachers at Infinity have fully embraced the principles of the Swim Ireland Programme, with children developing fundamental aquatic skills through structured play – you can be sure the children who come here have fun on their journey of learning to swim!  With every child receiving a passport and stickers, recognising effort as well as achievement, they also have a keepsake as a reminder of learning this vital life skill, that they can share with friends and family.  Young or old, fast or slow, toe dippers or head dunkers, Infinity is truly committed to getting everyone swimming.  Well done to all involved on this wonderful achievement.”

To mark the occasion, Irish International swimmers Brendan Hyland and Conor Ferguson were on hand to speak about their own Learn to Swim journey and give some lessons to the children involved in the programme.
