July 19, 2022
Swim Ireland's 2022 Irish Summer National Championships will get underway on Wednesday 20th July until Sunday 24th July at the Sport Ireland National Aquatic Centre, Dublin. 865 swimmers from over 100 clubs will compete across five days of competition for age group titles.
This year’s Championships return to the 2022 swimming calendar after an absence of three years due to COVID-19.
For some swimmers, it will be one final opportunity to swim competitively before they compete internationally in competitions which include the 2022 European Championships (11th-21st August) in Rome, the Commonwealth Games (28th-8th August) in Birmingham, and the European Youth Olympic Festival (24th-30th July), being held in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia.
Amongst the entries are Tokyo Olympians Danielle Hill, Shane Ryan, Darragh Greene, Finn McGeever, Ellen Walshe as well as June’s World Para Swimming medallists Ellen Keane, Nicole Turner and Róisín Ní Riain.
Every session over the course of the five days will be live streamed on the official Swim Ireland YouTube channel
