New CPD and Swimming Teacher Course

We are delighted to launch a new Virtual CPD and dates for our next Level 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder Swimming Teacher (ASDST) course on World Autism Awareness Day.
Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects the way a person communicates and relates to other people. People with Autism may have impairments in social interaction, social communication, and imagination, with 1 in 65 of the school going population having a diagnosis of Autism.
There is increasing evidence that children with Autism benefit from special education suited to their needs. Understanding the needs of individuals with Autism will help our teachers and coaches provide better bespoke training to maximise their experience.
To help our teachers and coaches achieve this and open their services up to people with Autism, we have a new Virtual CPD - available at a discounted price for a limited period - and a more substantial course for Level 2 Swimming Teachers.
Autism Awareness Day Courses
Virtual CPD - Autism Awareness in a Swimming Pool Environment - 1 CPD Point
This CPD takes place online on April 15 from 12-1pm and is taught by Johanna Tilley-Rock, who is also the tutor for our main Autism Swimming Teacher course.
Level 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder Swimming Teacher
The course will equip Level 2 Swim Ireland Swimming Teachers with the knowledge and practical skills to plan and deliver lessons for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. There are two elements, the first taking place on May 12 and 13 in the Virtual Classroom, and the second taking place at the pool when they reopen.
