Upskill for Swim Ireland Open Water Programmes

April 28, 2021

This summer Swim Ireland is once again teaming up with Local Sports Partnerships to deliver Open Water programmes - and we want Level 2 Swimming Teachers to help us!

Our range of Open Water programmes will launch as soon as it is safe to do so, and in preparation, to ensure the best and safest experience for participants, we have designed four Virtual CPDs for our Level 2 Swimming Teachers to complete.

Those who complete all four modules will be eligible to work with Swim Ireland’s Participation department to run programmes in the Open Water this summer.

Completing these modules DOES NOT qualify you to run your own open water sessions. You are only eligible to teach in Open Water as part of a Swim Ireland-run programme.

If you are a Level 2 Swimming Teacher, this is an ideal opportunity to upskill and get an introduction into teaching in open water. Each module costs just €10 and will earn you 1 CPD Point.

To sign up to the modules, please follow the links below. To get in touch with our Participation Department about joining our Open Water programmes teams, please email

Please remember that you need to complete all four to be eligible to work on Swim Ireland's Open Water programmes in 2021.
