Due to the challenges that faced many younger athletes at Performance Pathway and Performance Transition levels in 2020 and 2021, with many having reduced access to training/racing over the past 18 months, Swim Ireland Performance have decided that for the 2021-2022 season additional athletes to those already selected can be considered for the National Programme following the 2021 Irish National SC Championships in December.
The standards for these swimmers to achieve can be found in the National Programme document. Athletes will be invited to join the Programme (at PP & PT levels) from December 19, 2021.
For similar reasons, athletes can also apply to join the National Hub (Dublin) 'Project 28 Programme', should they achieve the programme standards at the 2021 Irish National SC Championships in December.
The current squads for the National Programme 2021-22 were announced earlier this month.
