We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Rafaella Costin on Sunday 5th December at just 13 years of age. Rafaella was an active member of Drogheda Swimming Club and Drogheda Water Polo Club.
Our thoughts and condolences go to Rafaella’s parents Eugen and Biljana, siblings Adriana, Francesca and Dino, extended family and friends, and to her coaches and club mates in Drogheda SC and Drogheda WPC.
We would also like to acknowledge the club volunteers and facility staff who provided first aid to Rafaella when she became unwell whilst in attendance at an event on Sunday.
Swim Ireland continues to provide support to the relevant clubs and volunteers affected by this tragedy.
