We are delighted to announce that with the lifting of restrictions in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, and with some mitigations in place during interventions, we feel confident that we can safely return to face-to-face delivery of the Regional Programme between May and July 2022.

Skills Academy

2011 Skills Academy
This programme is open to registered competitive swimmers born 2011. Athletes must have competed in the Future Challenger Series in the 2021-2022 season and be capable of competently completing a 100m Freestyle and 200m IM with good turns.
Application process:
- Club coaches will be emailed a nomination form and asked to submit nominations via the Regional Pathway Development Coaches
- Nominations will close at 2359hrs on Monday 2nd May 2022
- Successful athletes will receive an email from the Regional Pathway Development Coach in their Region asking them to complete an acceptance form online, return a signed declaration via email and make payment for the programme.
- Places will be filled on a first come first served basis and athletes will be added to a waiting list when the programme reaches capacity
- If payment and completed documents are not received by the deadline notified within the email athletes will lose their place and invites will go to athletes on the waiting list
2009/2010 Skills Academy
This programme is open to registered competitive swimmers born 2009 and 2010. Athletes achieving the published criteria on page 1 of the Regional Programme 2021-2022 Phase 2 document will be considered for selection.
Application process:
- The Regional Pathway Development Coaches will email Club coaches with a list of athletes who have achieved the selection criteria outlined
- Club coaches will be asked to forward a selection email to selected athletes if they approve their selection
- Applications will close at 2359hrs one week after the conclusion of the respective Regional Age Group & Senior LC Championships in May 2022
- Places will be filled on a first come first served basis and athletes will be added to a waiting list when the programme reaches capacity
- If payment and completed documents are not received by the deadline notified within the email athletes will lose their place and invites will go to athletes on the waiting list.
Regional Development Programme

This programme is open to registered competitive swimmers born 2006 to 2008 who achieve one or more of the published long course consideration standards listed on page 3 and 4 of the Regional Programme 2021-2022 Phase 2 document between 1st January 2022 and the completion of the respective Regional Age Group & Senior LC Championships in May 2022.
Applications for the Regional Development Programme can be made via this form. Applications will open on 1st April 2022 and close one week after the conclusion of the respective Regional Age Group & Senior LC Championships in May 2022
Ulster - Applications will close at 2359hrs on Sunday 15th May 2022
Connacht - Applications will close at 2359hrs on Sunday 29th May 2022
Munster - Applications will close at 2359hrs on Sunday 29th May 2022
Leinster - Applications will close at 2359hrs on Sunday 5th June 2022
Regional Pathway Programme

This programme is open to female athletes born 2003 to 2005 and male athletes born 2002 to 2005 who achieve one or more of the published long course consideration standards listed on page 3 and 4 of the Regional Proramme 2021-2022 Phase 2 document between 1st January 2022 and 23rd April 2022. Following the conclusion of the Irish LC Open 2022 athletes under consideration will be contacted directly by Andrew Reid, National Performance Pathway Manager, asking them to submit a Statement of Intent.
