May 17, 2021
Swim Ireland has now published Indoor Training Guidance for our clubs in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, as members in both jurisdictions prepare to return to club activity in indoor swimming pools.
We'd like to thank all our members for their continued patience and support while we have updated our Return to Water guidance.
From the communication we have had recently with you, it’s great to hear that clubs have been busy planning their return to training, both indoors and outdoors.
Already some members in Northern Ireland have been able to return to individual training in indoor swimming pools and on May 24 they will be able to return to training with their clubs.
To find out what the guidance is for that return visit: Indoor Training Guidance for Northern Ireland from May 24
For our members in the Republic of Ireland it has been a long year, with no indoor pool access so far in 2021 for swimmers not able to be categorised as elite. But pools and gyms are now permitted to open from June 7 for individual use and we have prepared guidance for clubs based on this:
Indoor Training Guidance for Republic of Ireland from June 7
We are hopeful that a phased easing of restrictions will quickly follow those May 24 and June 7 dates and will update our guidance as quickly as possible for you, as we receive details of changes.
