Swim For a Mile Open Water 2018

Swim For a Mile Open Water 2018

We have an exciting few weeks ahead of us, as Swim For a Mile (SFAM) Open Water approaches! We have teamed up with Leinster Open Sea to offer two SFAM Open Water events!

Each event involves swimming the mile in the great outdoors, however the first event is aimed at those who aren’t quite ready for Sea Swimming, but want to dive a little deeper than the swimming pool! This event will take place in the newly renovated and iconic Clontarf Baths in Dublin on August 29th at 6pm and 7pm. The baths consist of a large (40m x 25m) outdoor sea water swimming pool and pose as a fantastic bridge from indoor swimming to the open water.

The second event takes place on September 15th at 2.15pm at Sea Point in Monkstown, Dublin. Both events are open to all skill levels, and boast a safe, fun and relaxed atmosphere for you to take to the water. There will also be Music & Refreshments to enjoy as well as a Goodie Bag to take home.

Entry for each event is just €15, register today to guarantee your place!

There will be FREE training sessions every Wednesday from 6-8pm (starting August 8th) at the Clontarf Baths in preparation for the events, however you must register for the event on August 29th and/or September 15th to avail of this training.

If you are not a Swim Ireland Member, you can create a free Go-membership account HERE. Once logged in click on events and courses on the top left-hand corner of the screen, under featured events you will find the SFAM Open Water Event and registration.

When arriving at the Clontarf Baths, please park at the Scoil Ui Chonaill GAA Club and enter the baths via the gate to the side of the restaurant rather than the restaurant doors.
