Summer Preparation Series
This series involves two weeks of clinics, taking place from June 10th to June 21st at the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin. Each clinic looks at a specific focus of training, providing an opportunity for swimmers preparing for the upcoming summer national meets. Sessions will be designed and delivered between National Centre, Dublin Coaches, Bethany Carson and Matthew Coward, who will be supported by additional Swim Ireland Level 2 Coaches where necessary.
Week one of the series is targeted at swimmers who have qualified for National Division 2 (Tuesday June 11th being the only exception) with a minimum age requirement of 10yrs.
Week two is targeted at swimmers who have qualified for Irish Summer Nationals with a minimum age of 11yrs.
Each clinic will take place from 16:45-19:00 (swimmers should be on poolside, changed and ready at 16:45). Please see the file attached below for further details on each specific clinic.
During this series, swimmers will:
- Learn the various sets and training zones that aid in the development of their main event.
- Race tactics for specific events.
- Receive sessions designed by National Centre Dublin coaches centred around purposeful swimming, to improve racing ability.
When booking a clinic, please use the swim Ireland profile of the attendee!
Please ensure swimmers arrive to each session with a full mesh bag of training equipment.
In the event of a particular clinic receiving an increased demand, we may include an additional clinic with the same focus, however this will depend on the level of demand and will take place at 05:00 on either Wednesday.
