Weekly Dippers now in Cork, Courtown and Wicklow

Swim Ireland has today launched the Weekly Dippers programme, bringing communities together across Ireland for a weekly dip, in a safe, social and relaxed environment.
This initiative is designed to give confidence and company to those who wish to take up dipping, or those who want to make it more of a habit.
Swim Ireland's Weekly Dippers meet once a week for a dip under the watchful eye of a Swim Ireland Coach.
Dippers can join the session at any stage during the hour, and after each session our coach will join the Dippers for refreshments to answer any questions.
It's open to all ages and abilities and is free of charge.
There is no pre-registration. Dippers can just rock up on the right day and at the right time and look for our attending coach.
Ashley Hunter, Swim Ireland's Head of Participation, said: "As Beach To Buoy, Open Water Skills and Yoga & Dip wrap up for the winter, we wanted to continue to provide support to those new to open water.
"Weekly Dippers is a chance to meet up once a week and dip in a safe, social environment, with expert, local advice on hand, should you have any open water queries.
"Our hope is that when each Weekly Dippers programme finishes at a location, those Weekly Dippers will now have the confidence and knowledge to safely meet-up and dip together without our coach.
"Our dream is that then they will welcome others to their Weekly Dippers group, teaching them the safety awareness and skills they now have, and eventually all become Daily Dippers."
This is a brand new Swim Ireland Open Water Programme, with four locations ready to welcome dippers: Myrtleville in Cork, Skerries in Dublin, Wicklow Harbour in Wicklow and Courtown in Wexford.

In October, we will roll out the Swim Ireland Weekly Dippers Programme to more locations, including in Galway, Mayo and Sligo.
