Swim Ireland has now published the updated Swimming Pool Safety Guidelines 2021 (Third Edition) in conjunction with Ireland Active and Water Safety Ireland.
As swimming pool operators prepare for a gradual return to activities, the updated Swimming Pool Safety Guidelines (Third Edition) will sit alongside their COVID-19 specific Safety Protocols.
Since the implementation of the previous guidelines in 2010, the industry has grown, developed and advanced in its thinking, and so the Guidelines have been updated to reflect changes in practice and legislation.
The 2021 Guidelines have drawn upon the knowledge and expertise of many and will contribute greatly to safety in all Irish swimming pools.
We encourage all pool operators to adopt the pool safety approaches contained in the document, as the measures outlined within will inform their processes for reducing risk and encouraging the safe use of their pool.
We extend our grateful appreciation to all who inputted into this document and wish all every success in preparations for a welcome return to activities.
