7 top tips for Club Communication this Christmas

December 14, 2021

As you look forward to a well earned break this Christmas it's important to have a plan in place for the Christmas break. Munster Support Officer Damien Fitzpatrick has put his top tips together to help you out.....

1. Make sure to leave an out of office on to any club email addresses. An example would be “Seasons Greetings. We are currently taking a much needed break until Monday 3rd January 2022. We will respond upon return. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

2. Don’t forget to thank your members, volunteers, parents, facility staff and club sponsors. It’s always nice to show appreciation and especially so during the festive period.

3. Update your social media with a festive theme. You can find some free Christmas Facebook covers on www.canva.com. Don’t forget to remove in January. Check out some options available for you to use at the bottom of this article.

4. Prepare social media posts in advance. Canva is a great resource which can be used for free. They have a range of templates that are easy to use to help you promote the club all year round!

5. For clubs that have signed up to the Club Raffle it’s important to promote this. The best time of day for social media posts are generally 10am, 1pm during lunch or 10pm in the evening.

6. Why not ask your club members to share their favourite club photos/memories from the year? These can be shared on social media then throughout the festive period.

7. Once festivities are over in January don’t forget to post a message letting members know you have returned and when training sessions occur.
