#WePlay Inspiring Girls in Sport Conference
May 29, 2019
Swim Ireland's #WePlay Inspiring Girls in Sport Conference returns this July to the Sport Ireland Campus! This one-day conference runs from 10:00 to 16:00 and is open to females of ALL ages from ANY sport! The day will explore mental resilience, body image and health and well-being as an athlete.
The conference, hosted by Swim Ireland, funded through Sport Ireland's Women in Sport Programme and supported by Fingal County Council, is open to athletes, coaches, parents and supporters from all sports and will see some of Ireland's top female athletes and experts come together on what promises to be an inspiring and educational day.
The theme of the conference is "Proud to be Me!”. Ireland’s elite athletes such as Nina Carberry, Jenny Egan, Nicole Drought, Chloe Magee and Mona McSharry will take to the stage for panel discussions “In the Face of Adversity” and “The Un-comfort Zone” looking at the mind-set and methods they’ve used to achieve success. While sporting experts from the likes of the Sport Ireland Institute will discuss “Balancing Life As An Athlete” and all the elements that come into play.
Keynote speaker Sene Naoupu will deliver on why "The World Needs You To Do You" taking us through her fascinating Rugby career so far, from starting sport at a young age to setting and achieving the goal of becoming a 3 x Irish international and how she developed into leadership roles locally and globally while doing so! The day will be hosted by RTE's Evanne Ní Chuilinn.
Attendees will receive a #WePlay T-shirt, lunch and have the opportunity to meet all of our sport stars for photos and autographs.
