Women in Sport Coaching & Mentoring Programme 2020

Women in Sport Coaching & Mentoring Programme 2020

The Women in Sport (WIS) Coaching & Mentoring Programme was launched by Swim Ireland in 2018, funded by Sport Ireland. The aim of the programme is to address the lack of female coaching across Irish aquatics. Since its launch, 52 candidates have completed coaching qualifications (level 1 and 2).

For the upcoming year, we have identified several coaching courses across Ireland, where WIS spaces will be available. Although the Covid19 Global Pandemic is effecting practical elements of courses, we are still accepting applications for upcoming courses in which case candidates will complete theory elements online and the practical elements as soon as pools have availability.

Each course involves a blend of online training and classroom / pool elements. Spaces are distributed via an application process, with successful candidates receiving a discounted course fee, along with mentoring opportunities post course.

WIS candidates do not need to book onto a course manually, if you are successful in your application you will be awarded a place and then instructed to pay the discounted fee to gain access to the online theory.
