In 2018 we launched our Women in Sport, Coaching (Swimming) & Mentoring Programme, funded by Sport Ireland. The aim of the programme is to address the lack of female coaching across Irish swimming. Over two courses throughout 2018, 24 females successfully completed their Level 1 qualification as a result of the Women in Sport (WIS) programme.
We are now delighted to offer a WIS Level 2 Blended Coaching (Swimming) & Mentoring Course to take place this April 14th - 19th.
The course involves a blend of online training and face to face. The online training is completed ahead of the face to face classroom and pool elements, which will take place at The National Aquatic Centre and Sport HQ in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. The course will run from Sunday April 14th to Friday April 19th and is set at a discounted cost of €250 (normally €575) .
Please see below, the full course schedule. Candidates who cannot attend the full 6 days of the course should not apply and will not be accepted.
Participants will be required to:
- Hold a Level 1 Coaching Swimming Qualification
- Be a current Swim Ireland Club member
- Complete / have up to date Garda Vetting/Access NI by March 8th
- Complete / have up to date Level 1 Safeguarding Course (3 hours) by April 13th.
- Complete the online training by Thursday April 4th.
- Participate in the mentoring aspect of the programme*
- Attend and assist at 3 Swim Ireland Coaching Clinics after completing classroom units
Online Learning Aspect:
The online assessment must be completed before Thursday April 4th, as previously stated. This assessment does not have to be done in one sitting.
To apply for this coaching and mentoring programme, you must be a Swim Ireland Member and over the age of 16yrs, please complete the below application form and return to Bethany Carson via firstname.lastname@example.org by February 21st 2019.
