We are approaching the time when the Club’s Safeguarding Risk Assessment (RA) & Child Safeguarding Statement (CSS) must be renewed. Clubs have an additional need this year: all clubs affiliated to Swim Ireland must also complete a Club Audit.
The Youth Department have conveniently scheduled these requirements in the same period of time – from 1st September to 31st December 2021 – so Clubs can work on them together.
To help clubs with these requirements, the Head of Safeguarding, Kate Hills, is running several workshops to take you through the documents. The workshops are for Club Children’s Officers and Committee members to help understand what is required, and how to ensure your club meets these crucial safeguarding standards.
In each of the workshops the Club Audit will be covered in the first hour, and the RA & CSS will be covered in the second hour. Members should book their place as soon as possible as numbers will be limited to allow for questions and queries that will only help clubs meet this need.
